Ease on Down the Road
God is so present and relatable to each and every one of us if we just stay aware and open to HIS intervention.
Yesterday afternoon while driving, I started to feel very encumbered and concerned about an issue. The more I tried to mentally shift gears and focus on the many good things around me, the heaviness would not leave. Something about driving in the rain, makes it easier to cry. As the wipers cleared the windshield, I kept wiping my eyes but neither would stop, the tears or the rain. Always in a perpetual conversation with God, I don't even know if it came out of my lips, but it was definitely in my heart and mind, "Lord, Lord, Oh Lord.....you know Lord". Then right on Sunrise Highway through the flood of tears, out of nowhere, without a radio, I started singing out loud to myself the theme song from, "The Wiz".
"Come on and ease on down, ease on down the road. Come on and ease on down, ease on down the road. Don't you carry nuthin' that might be a load, come on ease on down, ease on down the road!"
As I started giggling in the car, I was so in awe of The Father's love towards me. Only HE knows how much I love "The Wiz", and theme songs. Call it crazy, but I call it assistance. Evil was trying to hijack me mentally off of the road of rejoicing on the many blessings operating in my life. The Holy Spirit jumped in and took the wheel dispensing comfort. HE dropped a song in my heart that contained a parachute to help me land. I gained focus as the lyrics reminded me to keep on moving and not to carry what I wasn't created to lift. HE is the "BURDEN BEARER" and I am the "BELIEVER". Now I just need to stay in my lane and EASE ON DOWN THE ROAD!
TRAVEL LIGHT, YOU ARE LOVED!
